PA Distribution is located on a 9 acre site with 5 acres of outside storage. Buildings consist of a 23,000 square foot concrete floor warehouse; a 2,000 square foot building housing a precision cut saw;and a 9,000 square foot open lumber warehouse. All buildings were constructed since March 2001.
The main warehouse has facilities for loading and unloading both flatbed and van trailers, and a railcar dock. All loading and unloading facilities are under roof, providing complete weather protection.
The facility has a 600 foot double ended rail siding capable of handling conventional and center beam flatcars at an outdoor unloading area, and boxcars at an under roof dock extending from the warehouse. Up to ten cars can be moved assembly-line style through the unloading areas without the need for re-spotting by the railroad. The flatcar unloading site has a 4,000 square foot concrete pad on each side of the track.
Rail service is provided by the Union County Industrial Railroad (UCIR), a local service carrier with direct connections to both the Norfolk Southern and the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Service is provided Monday through Friday. The facility is adjacent to the local switching yard, with the railroad switch crews available throughout the day to provide multiple spots and expedited handling when necessary.
PA Distribution can handle almost any kind of palletized or unitized commodity. We are specialists in handling building products such as OSB, plywood, dimension lumber and related products. We can provide resorting and mixed truckload deliveries.
PA Distribution operates a fleet of modern tractors with both flatbed and canvas side trailers to provide pick-up and delivery within a 200 mi. radius of New Columbia. For greater distances, PA Distribution works with a number of reputable trucking companies.
PA Distribution's Precision Cut saw cuts full units of lumber to any length up to 20 feet.
PA Distribution has one 10,000 pound and two 8,000 pound capacity forklifts. The forklifts are equipped with thin tong "plywood" forks for damage-free handling of all unitized lumber and panel products.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Truck receiving and loading from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Access is available at other times with prior arrangement.
